Eligibility
At MeDHigh, we are committed to providing equal opportunities and promoting diversity in the field of biomedical engineering. We recognize the disparities that exist in educational access and representation for students from backgrounds. traditionally underrepresented in engineering.
There is a significant lack of diversity within the engineering field. Students from underrepresented backgrounds often face additional barriers, including limited access to quality education that adequately prepares them for pursuing engineering careers. They may also lack early encouragement and support to explore STEM fields and may have concerns about their chances of success in these fields.
MeDHigh aims to address these inequities by actively recruiting and welcoming students from these underrepresented backgrounds. Our program provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive regardless of their background or previous experiences. We believe that diversity fosters innovation and creativity, and by embracing students from different perspectives and life experiences, we enrich the field of biomedical engineering as a whole.
We encourage students who identify as BIPOC, Hispanic, LGBTQ+, low-income, disabled, or first-generation to apply to MeDHigh. Our goal is to empower these students by offering a comprehensive curriculum, mentorship opportunities, and resources tailored to their unique needs. We are dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing the necessary support to help these students succeed in biomedical engineering.
